QA Engineer – Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong experience in functional and manual testing of complex enterprise applications, including requirement analysis, test strategy creation, test case design, execution, and defect management.
- Ability to independently analyze business requirements and technical specifications and develop comprehensive test scenarios covering functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Hands-on experience in test automation with the ability to develop, maintain, and enhance automated test suites and frameworks.
- Strong programming and scripting skills (Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, or equivalent) to support automation and test tool development.
- Good understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, STLC, and QA best practices.
- Solid knowledge of SQL with experience in test data creation, manipulation, validation, and backend/database testing.
- Good understanding of HTML, XML, JSON, and related web technologies to support UI, API, and integration testing.
- Strong understanding of software application architecture, including web-based, API-driven, client-server, and distributed systems.
- Hands-on experience in API testing, service validation, and end-to-end integration testing.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis, troubleshoot issues across application layers, and collaborate with development teams to drive defect resolution.
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
- Working knowledge of CI/CD processes and integrating automated tests within the software delivery pipeline.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and timely delivery.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to process improvements and quality engineering initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with performance, security, or other non-functional testing disciplines.
- Exposure to cloud-based applications, microservices architecture, and modern software development practices.
- Relevant testing certifications (ISTQB or equivalent) are a plus.
